Sonyk on iPad: the step grid, instrument knobs and DJ decks

One instrument, four jobs

Everything below ships today, on every platform.

It is the same song everywhere

Start on the train, finish on the Mac, play it out from the iPad. Pro syncs your songs with restorable versions; the free tier autosaves your current song on each device.

Sonyk on Mac: the sequencer grid and mixer

What people make with it

House, techno, trance, tribal — the bass is a 303 and an analog poly, the drums are synthesized and yours to reshape. Then the DJ page mixes the result against real records.

Free, then Pro

No trial clock. Play for free as long as you like; go Pro when you want permanence and output.

Questions

Is Sonyk really free?

Yes. The free tier has every instrument, the DJ decks and stems, up to 10 tracks, and 3 songs saved on your device in the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Vision Pro apps (the web app autosaves your current song and exports .sonyk files) — no cloud storage. Sonyk Studio (one-time) makes local saving unlimited and adds stem export and bouncing your mix. Sonyk Pro ($4.99/month or $39.99/year) adds cloud sync with versions across your devices, Together collaboration, and unlimited tracks and songs everywhere.

Does it run in a browser?

The web app at sonyk.com/app runs in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge with no install — the same engine, and songs open on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Vision Pro.

Does Sonyk work with Ableton Live?

Yes — Ableton Link syncs tempo and downbeat with Live and any Link app on your network, no cables. Sonyk also runs as an AUv3 instrument inside hosts like Logic, AUM and Loopy Pro, and hosts AUv3 plugins itself. See Ableton Link and AUv3.

Can I DJ with my own tracks?

Load tracks from Files, iCloud, Dropbox, Beatport purchases or SoundCloud. Sonyk detects the tempo, builds a beat grid, and can split any track into DRUMS / BASS / VOCALS / OTHER stems on the device. See DJ and Stems.

What is the Vision Pro version?

A nightclub you play in: you stand in the booth, the crowd dances to what you play, and every instrument is a board you place in the room. Same songs as everywhere else. See Apple Vision Pro.
